The dining hall can get your waistline into trouble. It's an all-you-can-eat buffet - and many go up more than once in a sitting. Any food you can imagine eating, the dining hall has it. It can be tough to stick to a strict diet when you could have anything from cheesy pizza to a double cheeseburger. (0) comments

When I went to the theater last year to see Mickey Rourke in his best performance ever, The Wrestler, I was shocked at how much I liked it. I had high expectations, but they were surpassed. Rourke went on to win the Golden Globe for Best Actor, and was robbed by the Academy for a deserved Oscar win, that went to Sean Penn for his role as a gay activist turned politician in Milk. Motion City Soundtrack is easily one of the greatest pop/punk bands of our generation. The Minnesota band that formed in 1997 had a great start to their music career with the 2003 album I Am the Movie, but has grown from their first big hit, "The Future Freaks Me Out" to the more mature, "A Lifeless Ordinary (Need a Little Help)" on the new CD. If you've seen the movie Almost Famous, then Pirate Radio will seem all too familiar. Like the first film, a teenage boy gets thrown in with a bunch of older, wiser rock-and-rollers who show him the ropes of the industry while he falls in love and comes of age. (0) comments

By now you've probably heard "Tik Tok" and either loved it or hated it. Like a dirtier, and drunker, version of Lady Gaga or Britney Spears, Ke$ha has taken an in-your-face approach to music that is featured on her debut CD, Animal. Animal is full of songs that have the same key elements that made "Tik Tok" a hit with a dance beat, Auto-Tune and witty, sarcastic lyrics. (2) comments
It's 9:15 p.m., and you just got out of night class. You have a big test tomorrow you need to study for. As soon as you arrive at your dorm room, you find all your roommates watching television and playing games with loud music. You have three choices: you can stay in the room and attempt to study through the sound, take the long walk to the library in the freezing cold or go to the quiet room that is sometimes not-so-quiet. Retro has come back and struck a pose. The 1980s were known for punk and bright colors, but who knew the '80s fashion fads would come back into popularity 20 years later? Fashions the generation before us flaunted, like skinny jeans, spandex leggings - you know, the Madonna look - and aviator sunglasses, have been displayed on the young bodies of America over the past year.
