College at Brockport student killed in accident

A College at Brockport student was killed in a motor-vehicle accident in the early hours of May 23. Dakota Deats, 22, of Bath was pronounced dead after the car he was driving went off the side of the road and hit a utility pole.
The accident happened around 3 a.m. May 23, when Deats car went off the right side of the road, hit the utility pole and became airborne. Deats's car came to a stop in a shed connected to an agricultural barn.
Deats was a business student, returning to Brockport in the fall.
Deats was taken to Davenport Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Bath is approximately two hours south of Brockport.
